Kingston Maternity Session

“It is the most powerful creation to have life growing inside you. There is no bigger gift.”

Morgan and Darcy have become my dear clients and friends over the last few years and I think their recent maternity session is my favourite of ours to date. We spent a sunny evening trekking deep in the woods near their log home and stumbled upon the cutest little island surrounding a lake that was glistening by the sunset. I love that they allow me to share their important life milestones with them.

Life As We Know It Sessions | Niche Photography

With great excitement I announce my new take on lifestyle sessions. Anyone that has been following along with my work knows a big piece of my photog-heart belongs to real, honest and unscripted moments. In knowing this, I thought I should come up with a fun way to provide my clients with a documentary session that reflects who they are in the truest of ways.  My focus will be on the mood, emotion and connection between you and your dearest through the little moments and details, which is why I believe these are the most heartfelt family sessions.

My favourite thing about these sessions is how natural they are. You’re in the comfort of your home, with the comfort of those you love in your everyday surroundings. With that being said, let’s have some fun and let all your unique personalities shine through. Whether your family enjoys piling into Mom and Dads bed, building forts or making pancakes together on Sunday mornings, these memories are the ones you want to have captured to hold onto as your our lives change and children grow.  Such simple yet real profound moments, those are the ones I want to capture for my clients. There is no doubt their may be a meltdown, an accident and maybe even some tears, but it will all be captured as a memory meant to be remembered. This is after all, supposed to tell a story of real life. I will make these sessions as relaxed and comfortable as possible, if you want a coffee, make one. If there is a dirty diaper, change it while I play with your other children. As a photographer, there is something so moving about entering someone’s home and capturing them and their loved ones just “being” as they usually do. Life won’t always be as it is, but this is your reality at the moment and these moments should be remembered.

I would love to chat more about booking a session with you and your loved ones, contact me to do so HERE.
